The expansion project of the Hamra Petroleum Terminal in the New Alamein City, affiliated to the Western Desert Petroleum Company (WEPCO), is considered one of the important projects of wide interest to the state. 

The project aims to increase the Terminal’s capacity for petroleum products, which is considered one of the main petroleum ports on the Mediterranean. Emaar Misr’s mission in the project was to link the old and new ports by constructing two crossings with a diameter of 32 inches and a length of 456 meters for each crossing under the international coastal road.
